Dare to Dream

Dark black locks stream on her face

As she stares at the vast skies that lay ahead

Waves dance in a sluggish pace

And the branches curl above her head.

A shooting star carries her dreams

To the world of her fantasies

A surreal world in which she gleams

And before her, bow the seven seas.

Falcons pierce the sky

The moon stares with curious eyes

Along with the wind, leaves fly

It is a world of beautiful lies.

She is snapped back by her own conscience, chiding her that fantasy is a bane

Yet she dares to dream, dares to escape the dull and mundane.

Hey guys,

I know that I’ve not been active lately, which is terrible because I’d actually resolved to maintain my blog by posting weekly but well, vacations have started and I’m sure I’ll be more serious about it now. I didn’t really feel like writing a poem today so don’t mind if it wan’t upto the mark. Also, I wanted to know what you might have named the painting. So if you think you have a nice title for it, please comment it down below. In case you didn’t notice, I completed this painting, the original piece is featured in My 1st Canvas Painting!!  If you have any suggestions regarding the poem or the painting then please comment it down below. Any kind of feedback is highly appreciated. Thank you for reading!

Beautiful poetry, Rachel! 😀 Love the blend of silhouettes and vivid colours in both sides of the painting. Hope your blogging goes well! ❤

    1. Thank you so much, Tom! You have no idea how much your appreciation means to me! 😀
Do tell me if you have a better suggestion for the title of the post. Or a better title for the painting.

        It looks fantastic! ❤
Hmmmm, this is a really tough one…maybe something like 'Starfall Salute' for the left half and 'Golden Goodbyes' for the right half? Or something like that – nighttime & sunsets have so many great words to choose from! 😀

      2. Wow! Those are two beautiful titles I’m gonna be using soon! Thank you for the amazing suggestions! I think ‘Starfall Salute’ has a wonderful ring to it. And ‘Golden Goodbyes’ seems just the right title for sunset. Thank you so much, Tom!

No problem! 😀 Glad you felt they were okay. ❤
If you're interested, I've started republishing the story that kickstarted my blog off (hopefully it's better this time around since I'm doing it weekly instead). So far people seem to be enjoying it more & I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!

      4. Oh wow! That is awesome! My summer vacations have started and I’ve got ample time to read and blog! I remember reading the first chapter. It was AWESOME but I hadn’t completed reading the whole story. I’m so excited for this! I think it is a great idea that you’re republishing it.

Hope you have a lovely holiday! ❤ I've actually stripped down the original story & rewritten the first few chapters to try and improve them – I felt it was dragging on for a bit with the world-building & took a while to set up the conflict, so I've rereleased the first chapter as Dented Iron. (The dog sidekick & the elderly flatmates plus their cat are all still there 😀 just wanted to immerse the reader quicker into the story this time around.) Hope you enjoy it! 🤗

Hi! It’s great to have you back!

Well… I did love the painting. You surely have improved a lot! The poetry… Not that much 😅 But it’s good, all the same.

A title huh? Well… right now I am unable to think of any, but will get back to you as soon as something nice clicks my mind.

But Dare to Dream sounds pretty good too! 🙌

    1. Thanks! Yup, I know the poetry wasn’t my best( if not my worst). Truth is I had written the poem to go with the painting and I guess, I’m not that good at describing paintings with the help of poetry…Anyway thanks for the honest feedback!
No hurries for the title! I’m sure it took me to more than an hour to come up with Dare to Dream!

😅 I don’t know…. describing a painting through poetry is indeed a pretty daunting task. But no worries! ‘cuz it’s been your first poem since months…. I’m positive that you will get back in the groove pretty fast. 😊✌️
