10 Quotes To Read When You Don’t Feel Productive

We all have those days when we just don’t want to do things. When productivity doesn’t come naturally to us. We get over this phase in our own ways but reading quotes certainly helps. So here I’ve put forth a collection of quotes that I find inspiring.

10 Productivity Quotes to get you started:

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing”

-Walt Disney

(Founder of Disney)

Do you have a long-term goal? Dreams that give you a reason to wake up? Well, just speaking about your dreams doesn’t make them real. Working towards them does.

“Tomorrow becomes never. No matter how small the task, take the first step now!”

-Tim Ferriss

(American entrepreneur, author, pod-caster, and angel investor)

Don’t feel like writing a post today? Well, then write a draft. Don’t complete the whole task if you can’t but at least complete the first step.

“Improved productivity means less human sweat, not more”

-Henry Ford

(American captain of industry, a business magnate, founder of the Ford Motor Company)

Yes, there is no substitute to hard work but hard work doesn’t mean working long hours (if that thought makes you feel less productive), it means putting more effort into your work hours. As Muhammad Ali once said,” Don’t count your days, make the days count.”

“You need to fall in love with the pain of hard work.”

Cristian Mihai

(Author and blogger)

Chances are that you’ve been working way too hard and you just need a break. Well, that’s all good but don’t make that break a “phase”. Because in order to achieve great things, you need to fall in love with the pain of working hard.

“If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never   get it done.”

-Bruce Lee

(actor, director, martial artist, martial arts instructor, and philosopher)

If you want something, come and get it. Just thinking about it is wasting time. Work, plan and execute. Remember this,”A goal without a plan is just a wish.

“The days you don’t want to are the days you have to.”

-Jay Shetty

(Monk-turned-motivational speaker)

The days you don’t feel like doing something are the days you need to push yourself to do it. We all go through this phase. What makes you different?

The fact that you battle it.

“There are risks and costs to action. But they are far less than the long range risks of comfortable inaction.”

– John F. Kennedy

(35th president of the United States)

When you engage yourself in work, you have a purpose in mind. A vision. Yes, inaction is comfortable but is it safe?

When your day gets over, it’s better to feel tired from all the work you did do than regretful about what you didn’t do.

“You can’t get much done in life if you only work on days when you feel good.”

-Jerry West

(American basketball player)

Productive: achieving a significant amount or result.

Achievement starts only when you get out of your comfort zone or your feel-good zone. So get out of it and start working! Because the happiness you get after completing a task is way better than “feeling good”.

“Practice like you’ve never won, perform like you’ve never lost.”

-Bernard F. Asuncion

Maybe, you don’t want to work right now. But successful personalities didn’t become successful by working when they wanted to. They constantly improved themselves  To be better in something, you need to practice. Practice like you know nothing about it and perform like you’re a professional at it.

“Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work.”

-Stephen King

(American author)

If you’re not productive these days then chances are that you’re trying to find motivation to complete the tasks that you’d set out to do. Well, stop searching and start doing. Remember, success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.

Now get to work!

Doing the smallest of things can make a huge difference! Perhaps finish a draft or start reading that book you wanted to read since forever. Practice writing or clean your room.  Don’t keep thinking about it. Procrastination is your enemy.

Plan and perform. Just do it.
