Chaos is a ladder

Waves crash up the shore
Wipe my steps, soak my shoes,
Bend before the tide’s roar
Or else the Tyrant runs loose.

All footsteps are swept
And I stand broken, alone,
Soundlessly, confusion has crept
And my cover is finally blown.

When all are asleep,
Thoughts infest my head
Am I trapped in a circle?
Am I living or dead?

An endless loop,
I’m trying to break free
I was lured to stoop
It’s your time to bend the knee.

There’s a beauty in the dark
To err is human, they say
Chaos, like plights, won’t last forever
Just like a fistful of sand blows away.

I rise at the dalliance of the sun and sea
A ladder to climb, chaos is a mystery.

Hey there!

This post was inspired by a quote (from Game Of Thrones)

β€œChaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some, are given a chance to climb. They refuse, they cling to the realm or the gods or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.”

– Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish

Hope you like the poem but if you didn’t then do share the reason so that I can improve.

I particularly liked: “Am I trapped in a circle?” I think a lot of us wonder about it.

Good one, Rashi! A nice premise aptly penned. Although… I could still see some of your old flaws peeping through! πŸ˜…

Like you still use articles which can be avoided. And you are still impatient, with the start of the poem being much better than the end.

But overall, I liked it. One of your best ones, so far!

P.S. Game of thrones?! Seriously?! I thought that it had some adult rated contentπŸ€” And here I was, thinking that my sister was still underage! πŸ˜…

    1. Rashi Singh says:

      Hey!
Thanks. And I’m working so hard to remove the articles when they’re not needed but then while reading it again, it starts bugging that I didn’t use the article.
Also, what should I do about my impatience?
Game of Thrones does have adult related content. And I am underageπŸ˜…But I watched it with my sister and she moderated it for me. Back when I had watched the first episode, I hadn’t been entirely sure whether to continue or not. But then the plot gripped me.
Speaking of which, I recommend it!πŸ˜€

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ It happens to me too, don’t worry! About impatience? I guess I am the wrong person to ask, seeing that I can get very impatient myselfπŸ˜…
Ah the perks of having an elder sister!
Honestly, I have read Game of thrones until Rob Stark’s death. After that, I grew bored of the twisted and achingly slow plot. Hence I read about it elsewhere. So now I know the entire story anyways! πŸ˜…

Yeah, I’ve heard that the books have pretty slow plotline. My sister even started reading the series but she got bored, I guess. The show is actually interesting, though. And it seems so real. I don’t really get affected by deaths in books or shows but Game Of Thrones had a huge impact on me.
You read the entire plot? Okay. But still give it a try! Only the first 4 or 5 seasons follow the book.
