Lilacs showered upon me A love I didn't appreciate Sunlight bouncing off windows Hurt to be neglected Now, taunt my very being An animal caged in the zoo Mocked by wandering birds But in this desperate boredom, I'm learning to find Symphony in their chirps. Walls are crashing down That shielded me with normalcy In this chaotic solitude, I'm finding peace In the little things. Finding love In being alone. Finding me Slowly.
Hey there! Everyone’s struggling with quarantine and the news which becomes more tragic by the passing day.
I wanted to make the best of the situation so I caught up with some of my hobbies like drawing and writing. I also started an art blog so do take a look at it right here!
This poem is in response to a quote.
“Barn’s burnt down, now I can see the moon.”
Mizuta Masahide
It is a prompt by Mish from the dVerse. She encourages us to find our moon behind the burnt barn. She urges us to find a revelation, a new bright perspective that was hidden because of our daily routines. Something that this world crisis made us realize. With so many affected by COVID-19 and so many affected by quarantine, I think we’ve all begun to appreciate the things that we didn’t before. That’s what I wrote about today. Because, when we don’t find what we want, we tend to appreciate the things that we didn’t notice before.
Do take a look at the prompt and share your thoughts on it! Write a poem if you feel your creative juices flowing because nothing stirs the mind like a good poem! If you liked the poem or the image (which I made using Krita) and would like more such posts, don’t forget to tell me about it.

Enforced solitude offers an opportunity to set aside the clap-trap of our everyday world, and get in touch with who we are!

Couldn’t agree more, Beverly. The every day world had me living in a loop but because of these times, I’m exploring myself more. What about you?
Stay happy and stay safe!
