Embark On A Journey

Today I embark on a journey
Sunlight bounces off leaves
The road forks not once but twice
Under the umbra of changing trees.

In the midst of change,
 A tranquil pond invites me
I’m unsure and overwhelmed
Yet there is no place I’d rather be.

Throwing a stone in azure waters,
I watch its impact in glee
I’m a little stone in a vast ocean
But so were many others before me.

Ripples spread the gift of hope
Pumping adrenaline through my veins
Resuming my journey, I march forth
Ready to face the thundering rains.

But the shower is light
Sunlight bounces off leaves
The road forks not once but twice
But I am skipping with the breeze

A smile plays on my face
I hop with rhythmic delight
Embracing my inner child
At last, I see the light.
